I simply cannot believe how jam-packed this year has been! I am totally slacking on my blog content… SO, I am committing to do my best to catch up on some featured sessions from this year thus far.
Some quick, exciting news on the personal front: I am expecting baby #2 this October! This second pregnancy has been kicking my booty, not to mention wrangling an almost-three-year-old and managing my work and home life. BUT, I am so blessed and am trying to keep my eyes focused on the blessings despite the busyness and chaos of the season. As life and business do, the seasons ebb and flow and with the challenging pregnancy, my focus has been to cater to a smaller clientele this year so that I can show up at my best for those who I am working with. Darn that’s hard though! I thrive in the busyness of this business and it’s been challenging to take an intentional step back. Also, so tough that my due date is right in the middle of the fall busy season *deep breaths*! Trusting that the Lord will provide and I will be eager and refreshed to jump back into my full capacity in 2026. Shameless plug – the only remaining dates I have this fall are in my River Mini Sessions, I’ll link the booking site here!
And now on to the reason we’re all here – to talk about this beautiful maternity session! I had the pleasure of capturing Devon and Brandon’s maternity photos during their babymoon to the desert this past spring. Spoiler – baby boy has arrived and it’s been so sweet to see the updates of their little cutie on social media! We photographed at one of my favorite North Scottsdale locations, Browns Ranch. Browns is the perfect location for the Arizona desert landscape and beauty. It is a permitted location, which as a photographer, I appreciate because it is well-kept and typically not overrun with photo sessions. This was a great spot for the Dickey’s being an out of town couple and gave them the chance to embrace the beauty of Arizona. There is so much uniqueness to capture in a maternity session as mama is in a beautiful state of giving literally everything to that growing baby in her womb. Such a special time between mom and baby. Don’t worry dads – we see you and appreciate your support during this time! 😉
