Extended Family Photos in Prescott, Arizona

To kick off fall family photo season, I ventured up north to Prescott to work with the ever-so-lovely Gilligan family! This was such a fun change of pace to photograph in a new setting... I was loving the greenery! We were a bit disappointed because this location in Prescott typically features a stream and small pond of water, though it was dried up for our session - much to our surprise! Despite this, we still got some beautiful images against the Prescott trees and rock formations.

The Gilligan's dressed in beautiful earthly tones of greens, golds, and blues! I love the way their colors were well accented by the surrounding landscape. Also much to our surprise, all of Arizona was experiencing a heatwave of temperatures over 110 degrees in the valley and 100 degrees in Prescott - it was hot! Luckily, we were shaded and as the sun began to set, the air began to cool. The Arizona heat is really hanging on this year... even as I write this blog (mid October), we're still in the high 90's! I swear I say this every year, but it feels worse than last year haha!

It's such a treat to work with extended families as I know how hard it is to align schedules, yet it is so sweet to get everyone together and spend some time with one another in nature - unplugged - and enjoying everyone's company. Not to mention what a treasure these photos will be -- getting to look back on this sweet season as the boys are growing up so quickly!

I absolutely loved getting to photograph in Prescott and am certainly hoping to make a visit again soon!
