Scenic Family Photos, First Birthday Photos at the Mogollon Rim in Payson, Arizona

I will forever be swooning over this gallery!! This is such a fun opportunity to photograph in a different setting up in the mountains of Payson, Arizona. This session was at the Mogollon Rim... a popular camping destination near the town of Payson. Driving to, through, and around the Mogollon area is jaw-dropping... the mountains, sprawling views, nearby rivers and lakes, and of course the cooler temps are a plus! The Rim is also super beautiful during the winter, as with the higher elevation the mountains and pines are covered in snow. (The roads can get a bit icy and sketchy... just a FYI, but outside of that this is a favorite place to visit all year long!) I love this area and was so excited to photograph the Van Kley family here for Capri's first birthday!!

Due to the blustering wind of a stormy day, it was an all-hands-on-deck effort to maintain the cake smash set up. Luckily, the star of the show didn't seem to mind a bit as she happily rearranged the "One" sign and enjoyed dainty bites of her delicious cake! Cake smashes are so fun to photograph.. it's one where we just embrace the mess and chaos while capturing all of the little in-between moments! We even snuck grandma (Coco) into a few of the pics, which is always a treasure to get multi-generations in these family photos!

Loved working with this fam at this spectacular location. Who is next at the Rim?! I am itching to go back already!
