The Editing Process
Do you know the feeling of accomplishing that big item on your to-do list or when the anticipation of the big event on your calendar comes and goes? There is a bittersweet emotion of the sadness that it’s over but also the relief that you can cross it off and move on… well, you’ve made it mama. I, too, know that feeling all too well. And even though we may look forward to these events, there is a certain feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction to be able to cross it off the calendar and move on (maybe that is the Type A in me, and I’m alone in this… who knows!). I have worked so very hard to curate an experience through Alicia Nicole Photos that takes the stress off your shoulders; but, we can still acknowledge that prepping for a photoshoot is a lot of work – and that is ok! The good news is that from this point forward, you truly get to sit back and enjoy as you anticipate the next step: the Ordering Appointment!
Timeline for preview gallery delivery
Now with the session completed, clients can expect a sneak peak of about 4-6 images on Instagram stories or email if the client does not have social media. These are not downloadable images, but rather a look at what you can expect in your final gallery. These sneaks usually go live within a week after the session!
The full timeline to turnaround the final gallery is 3-4 weeks. Clients will receive an email to schedule their Ordering Appointment where they will experience their full gallery for the first time in a slideshow set to music. After experiencing their gallery, we will discuss artwork as all artwork orders are placed during the Ordering Appointment.
The artistry behind light & airy editing
Really, the artistry of light and airy photography happens in camera. The focus on light, composition, white balance, and exposure are all set in camera during the session which creates that light and bright feeling to the imagery. While the editing process focuses on color correction and the finer details.
Your Private Online Gallery Experience
How to access and share your images
Upon purchasing the final gallery during the Ordering Appointment, clients will gain access to their gallery via email to download and store their digital files. Clients are also permitted to share with family and friends as they see fit.
Beyond Digital: Creating Heirloom Artwork
I am so passionate about the topic of artwork. Digital files are a necessity in today’s digital world, however, it bums me out when beautiful artistry lives and dies in the photo album of an iPhone. Bringing this artistry to life in high quality, fine art artwork to adorn our homes and live on for generations… that is what this is all about! We can love and appreciate the iPhone’s camera abilities, but to liken the artistry of fine art photography to iPhone images is a disappointment. Over the years, as I have refined my business towards a luxury fine art experience, artwork has become a staple part of my offerings. The way I photograph, edit, and compose is through the lens of wall art, album art, and the like because it’s my number one goal to bring these images to life in a way that clients can hold and touch and pass along for generations… my passion is to contribute to the legacy that my clients will leave behind through their families.
Artwork consultation process
Curating the artwork happens during the Ordering Appointment. Though, clients are presented with artwork options during the Planning Appointment so that they can be thinking about the artwork they’d like to order as we plan the photoshoot.
During the Ordering Appointment, we will select the images for artwork, design, and order. I work directly with a couple of different fine art labs that will process the artwork. During our appointment we look at different album options, paper quality, we design wall art directly onto your wall through the software, Swift Galleries. With the clients’ input, I will handle the curation and processing of the artwork to ensure the highest quality and proper production.
Album design and customization
Albums are a personal favorite. Heirloom fine art albums are offered in Linen or Velvet covers with fine art paper that will stand the test of time maintaining coloring and quality for generations. The albums are debossed with family names to memorialize the legacy. I design albums to tell a story, and I just love how it is brought to life. The newborn season comes and goes so quickly, it is such a treasure to capture the details and storyline of this fleeting season.
